R.I.P. Jacksoul

“Juno Award-winning artist Haydain Neale of the R&B band Jacksoul died Sunday at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital after a private, seven-month battle with lung cancer.”

I interviewed Haydain at the Juno Awards in Saskatoon a few years ago. Very gracious man. I remember him standing in the cold waiting for the guy beside me to ask him a few questions as well. The guy beside me kept him waiting over 10 minutes…most celebs wouldn’t do that. Just a tiny example of the kind of guy he was off stage.

Rain Rain – GO AWAY!

Ok Rain…you and I have to talk. Seriously, it feels like it’s been raining for 3 weeks straight in Victoria BC and I’m getting cabin fever. Look – We’ve had a Good Run! Remember the time you tricked me into thinking you weren’t coming out and I forgot an umbrella..and then you showed up and gave me a soaker – Good One! You totally tricked me! Rain…we’ve had fun…we partied, you came back to my place – But is seems like our relationship has gone as far as I’d like it to go. You know me, I’m not one to drag things on any longer than they have to. And you’re right, I do have commitment issues. I just think it’s time we see other people. It’s not you…it’s me.

During our Meet & Greet with Kelly Clarkson we were told she won’t have time to sign our CDs, but we were handed little photos that she had signed earlier in the day. Now I must tell you I’m always impressed with Celeb-o-graphs. They always look 100 times better than normal peoples signatures. When I sign my rent cheques it looks like a 5 year old did it. I used to collect autographs from Celebrities when I was in high school and had no friends. Often I wondered how they do them. So I tried to copy Kelly’s autograph…I think it’s pretty close!

Levi Johnston is Sarah Palin’s Daughter’s Child’s Father(s). Confused yet? So from what I understand, he is a lot like Kevin Federline where he has no talent but is famous-by-association. During the run up to the 2008 U.S. presidential election he gained notoriety because his girl friend (Palin’s Daughter) was preggers but they weren’t married – which kinda put a kink in the wholesome American image Sarah was trying to build.
So this 19-year-old is in the news because he’s going to be in Playgirl Magazine showing 90% of his body to the world. Now I’m no model and I don’t claim to know what is considered “attractive” these days. But something tells me…wet locks of armpit hair aren’t on that list.

Kelly Clarkson put on an amazing show last night at the Save On Foods Memorial Center in Victoria. Thank you to all the Kool FM listeners who came out. It was jammed! I’ve never seen a bigger audience at any concert in Victoria. Kool FM was able to give our listeners a pre-show intimate acoustic preformance where Kelly played a new song she’s never played live before…and we also awarded Nicole and her friends the best seats in the house in the Kool FM Suite. Free food, free drinks and a Meet & Greet with Kelly Clarkson!
I was especially excited to meet Kelly. I have had a celeb-crush on her forever! I was a little nervous, but I thought this is likely the only time I’ll get to meet her so I made a little coupon for Kelly allowing her 1 FREE DATE with ME! I’m sure she gets this kind of stuff all the time..but I thought if you don’t play the lottery – you can’t win the lottery.
She was polite and said she’ll hang on to the coupon! So now all I have to do it sit back and wait. The ball is in your court Kelly. :)

Lights & Jets Overhead

Kool FM was very proud to Present Lights & Jets Overhead at Alix Goolden Hall last night. What a great show! I wasn’t able to stay for all of it because I had to work the early shift, but I did see Lights preform at out street-level atudio for another Kool FM Live & Interactive where Lights played and talked with Andrea Collins. She’s adorable. Lights, not Andrea. Andrea smells. (KIDDING!)
